A Passion for the Natural

I respect the life of trees. Most builders would avoid crooked trees, not Sobokuya. We carve and join the wood as if it was born to be a part of the house. The lives of the trees must be elevated by those who have felled them. We make the best use of the original shape of the trees. I feel that there are more and more people these days that have forgotten the essence of what it means to be one with nature. We need to remember true kindness. There is no spirit in the details. Spirit is in nature, which means that the most beautiful things are those that are natural.

Our Vision

Sobokuya aims to contribute to the development of society by providing more comfortable living space through architecture with simple design, and to improve the lives of the company’s employees and to become a major architectural option in Vietnam.

General Director - Architect

Imai Hisashi（今井久志）

I am an architect with expertise in wood house architecture. I was born and raised in Osaka in the Kansai region, where many of Japan's oldest and famous architectural works are kept. I have lived and worked in Canada for about 10 years. With a passion for traditional Japanese wood architecture, I returned to my hometown and established Sobokuya. I love wood and have always appreciated its value. When building a house, I take the life of the tree and let the tree live a new life in the form of a house, a door or a dining table. I love nature. I believe that nature is an inexhaustible source of ideas for creativity in architecture. I hope to be able to contribute a small part of my efforts to preserving and expanding to the world the traditional values of Japan.
